The human race was once a proud people. They were intelligent beings and excellent builders. Man was best friends of dogs and the scorn of wolves. Both benefactors and doomsayers for many creatures, Man was a force to be reckon with.
But one day, Man vanished off the face of the earth. Leaving naught a piece evidence of their presence besides their many cities.
On this day the wolves rejoiced for the disappearance of their overlords while the dogs mourned the loss of their masters and family.
When Man disappeared everything was chaos. Dogs filled the streets looking for their masters, barking and snapping at each other. They were lost, scared, and confused. Nothing in the world made sense any more and there was no one to guide them.
Meanwhile, once word had spread, the wolves rejoiced. The beings that had taken away so much land prey were finally gone. The wolves could finally take back what was theirs. Convinced that it was a sign from those beyond, the wild canines made their way into what was once human territory.
The wolves did not expect to meet such an opposition, however. As packs of wolves reached the former human they were met with dogs. The domestic canines wandered aimlessly. Their purpose in life vanished along with their masters. Most dogs did not know what to do. The two groups were curious of each other at first. At least until one of the pack Alphas decided to test the dogs' reactions. The Alpha sunk his teeth into a random dog causing the unfortunate animal to scream out in pain. The dogs flinched at the sudden attack, but they soon dished out their own.
A battle ignited. Many lives were lost on both sides, but the dogs came out victorious and banished the wolves from Strange City for another five decades.
Relations between dogs and wolves are still tense after the first battle. Though they tolerate one another currently, it wouldn't take much to spark up another war. Many things can change over the years, however. The first battle is but a distant memory recounted by tales told by elder dogs and wolves.
It has been 50 years since the disappearance of man and mother nature is slowly taking back what had been taken from her. Dogs have searched deep and found their wild instinct once again. And wolves have began entering the cities Man left behind.
The worlds of Dogs and Wolves are about to collide and only time herself knows how long the two species will co-exist.
